Yeah the Grease thing is a joke that Frenchy got her name from ‘French kissing’. I took the other one as, his eye drops (or more like his eyelid!) from exhaustion and/or from drinking alcohol when partying so hard 🤷‍♀️

That’s what I assumed, that it had something to do with his eyelid, but is that a thing that happens regularly? Something that can be joked about and easily understood? I feel like if somebody said that to me, I would be like “Sorry, what does that mean?“

Also, way to joke about underage drinking, AOL Teens!

Yeah, nice platform! Although I’m not entirely surprised being 37 myself and having been a teen in the 90’s

Oh absolutely, I wouldn’t understand that for a second either if somebody said that to me. That ‘joke’ takes some serious dissecting!

Frenchy was about French kissing, presumably she was called that because she did it frequently, easily, or well. The ONLY THING I can think of for eye drop is “I drop?” Like “I drop” when I party because he’s getting intoxicated and passing out? Definitely a stretch, but it’s my best guess!

I never played Crush! or Mack!, but I distinctly remember being part of a middle school RPG on AOL Kids Only when I was in elementary school. It was exhilarating.

And I think "Frenchy" is a reference to French kissing. No idea what that other one is though.

I think the eye drop thing is like when he parties his eyes drop down to look a girls’ boobs or butts. Sorta like an “I only objectify women when I party too hard! HAHAHAH” Not funny but it is meant to be catered towards men 🤷‍♀️

Ooh Mara, I’ve bought your audiobook, ‘Where Am I Now’. I need some distraction from the public health crisis going on atm. I’m so excited to listen to it on my commute to work tomorrow (I’m a key worker). Stay safe

Celia, I have read Mara's book and found it a wonderful chance to read about someone my own age and generation and how she found the will to not want 'fame' if that makes sense. I had to pay over the odd's for it as Im in the UK but it was very much worth it and Im saving it for my oldest daughter to read when she hits...the big P in a year's time! x

Hi Jan. You’re so right, I found it a fascinating read (..well, listen). I really enjoyed it and thought it was narrated so well. I didn’t want it to end! Having listened to what hard times she’s endured from such a young age, I have even more respect for Mara. I even found myself relating to her, this former Hollywood child actor! That was probably the biggest surprise for me on reflection. x

Is it not that maybe his eyes drop as in look down? Like at someone's boobs or something? Idk.

Yes! New post! I took the eye drop joke as very basic, like “when I party too much my eyes tear up too,” as if she were crying from partying, and not from her boyfriend leaving her. Who knows?

No, the guy was saying it, she wasn't!
